Read 100: Celebrate KCPL's 100th Anniversary by accepting the challenge

Read 100 Stories: the challenge

In 2009 the Kanawha County Public Library system celebrates its 100th anniversary. To mark this event we'll be offering special programs and displays throughout the year, plus we're challenging our patrons to read 100 books.

The challenge begins January 2 and ends December 31. Participants may obtain a book log at any branch of the Kanawha County Public Library system during these dates. Only materials checked out from KCPL libraries count. Unabridged audiobooks and Playaways count too, but adults and teens may not count children's books towards their goal. Titles read for KCPL's summer reading clubs for each age group will count toward the challenge.

Once you complete the program, return your book log to your local branch library for a special prize. This book log is the only record of your accomplishment. Please turn it in as soon as you have read your 100 books.

There will also be quarterly prize drawings for each age group. Entry slips are provided with your book log. Please turn each slip in by the date on the slip to be eligible for these drawings.
